Title: Dapu Incident: Land Justice and Human Right to Adequate Housing
Intro: Dapu, located in Miaoli County, central part of Taiwan, is the disputed area for its injustice suffering of Land Expropriation Act to build the expanded construction of an industrial complex. The incident started in 2010 and caught everybody’s attention when the excavators came to the rice fields to expropriate farm lands. In 2013, the Miaoli County Government finally destroyed all the houses of the expropriated area and made tens of thousands of people protest in capital Taipei. The Incident shows the government makes people to be forced evictions without the principle of extreme necessity but gross violation of human rights. There are already two people committed suicide because they suffered great pain under the expropriation situation and thousands of family leaving their homes because of the unreasonable law. It’s just like the horrible enclosure movement in Europe around 19th century. Therefore, we urge the government to stop and amend the law immediately to prevent more possible tragedies in the future.
苗栗大埔，一千多個抗爭的日子
今年台灣最受注目的人權事件之一，就是苗栗大埔事件（維基百科）。先來看一下由台灣農村陣線製作的三分鐘懶人包。
苗栗大埔事件已經延續多年，早在2010年6月9日開始，當苗栗縣政府為了擴大開發竹科園區的竹南基地，於是指派警力封路封村、並將怪手開入即將結穗的稻田，那一幕「國家毀田」的暴力景象，讓人震驚、憤怒。[註1]
對許多農民來說，即將收成的農作物與農地，不僅是賴以溫飽的來源，也是每天辛勤，對天地敬重、珍惜糧食的一種生活方式，如今怪手直接剷毀作物，那樣的心痛與衝擊，加上國家公權力的優勢排除與無時不在的拆毀恐嚇，終於造成國家殺人的悲劇——2010年8月3日，大埔農民朱馮敏老太太，在自家門口喝下大量除草劑，自殺身亡。然而 2010 年，由當時的行政院長吳敦義（現為副總統）居中調停的公文、會議紀錄等等，承諾跳票，來到 2013 年7月，大埔四戶被拆的爭議再起，再度陷入家園隨時會被夷為平地的恐懼之中。[註2]… 閱讀全文
